Like a tree with strong roots laughs at storms, so does a human who understands the mind to be at least as strong as the body.
Besides being pulled through life desperately kicking and screaming, one may pass through it peacefully as well. This is the way of the wise; the way of being larger than your circumstances. This is the way of healing yourself through the power of your mind, emotions and spirit, through self-belief, optimism, emotions and love.
Various research studies from The National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the Federal Government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), NCCAM-funded researchers from Virginia Commonwealth University on stress and HIV and from University of Wisconsin on Meditation & exercise, studying a new translational tool for studying the role of breathing in meditation, the PATH-D study, study on neuro-imaging & Biomarkers in chronic visceral pain, evaluation of Yoga for sleep disturbances in PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and Spirituality in Cancer Care (PDQ of National Cancer Institute), have further strengthened the above mentioned theory. These theories can be widely experienced through Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). It garners healing response by default through self-correction and self-response. Self being the Universal Spirit we refer to. Being conscious and making right choices changes the whole pattern; it brings a paradigm shift.
Health-changes are seen at every cellular level. The telomeres, which protect our genetic data, make it possible for cells to divide, and hold some secrets to how we age and get cancer. If you lack self-belief, optimism, emotions and love, these telomeres will start becoming inactive or senescent or die. This process is associated with aging, cancer and a higher risk of early death. Thus telomeres have also been compared with a bomb fuse. So, like live bombs, we need to handle our cells with utmost care. Ultimately all cells regenerate. Red blood cells live for approximately four months in the body, while on the other end of the spectrum; some cells like that of bones take longer than seven years to regenerate. Positive thoughts, words and deeds certainly help this process of regeneration, health and wellbeing.
It is in the roots, not the branches that a tree’s greatest strength lays.
